Visual Fatigue Syndrome

People today are suffering more than ever before , from visual fatigue, eye strain, blurred vision, and glare related headaches.

These maladies can be greatly reduced by using special lenses to focus at “intermediate working distances” (usually 20 to 21 inches). These lenses are anti-reflective, which means, they reduce visual fatigue caused by glare.

By sharpening visual performance, these lenses help you see more clarity. Clarity, with less glare, helps your eyes feel better. Long hours in front of a computer screen and harsh fluorescent lighting can result in eye fatigue. We are spending more time at work, and play, using computers and other digital devices, than ever before.

Call us today to schedule your eye health evaluation. The doctors will test you for “visual fatugue syndrome,” and will work with our ABO Certified Opticians to prescribe and fit you with the correct pair of eyewear.

Below is an illustration of a typical progress compared to a computer lens. As you will notice, the computer lens is designed to give a wider field of view for the intermediate visual zone, than the typical progressive would. Combined with an anti-reflective treatment, computer lenses reduce visual fatigue.
